SERU

SERU Preparation Course

(Safety, Equality, Regulatory Understanding)

Two months after TfL introduced their new Assessments, the dust has now settled and we are in a position to offer a full range of training/preparation courses for all drivers.  In essence, the new assessment is in 3 parts, and depending whether you are a new driver or an existing driver, there will be different routes you have to take.

The new Assessments are as follows:

  • English Speaking and Listening
  • Topographical Skills
  • SERU

and will all be taken at the same time

This chart explains the different routes:

What we can offer:

New Drivers:

  • Licence acquisition
  • 1 day Topographical Skills training course
  • ½ day SERU preparation course to include explanation of drivers handbook; example questions; TfL on-line Safeguarding Course (all drivers are expected to complete); Mock assessment of Speaking and Listening

Existing drivers who didn’t submit B1 English:

  • ½ day SERU preparation course to include explanation of drivers handbook; example questions; TfL on-line Safeguarding Course (all drivers are expected to complete); Mock assessment of Speaking and Listening

Existing drivers:

  • ½ day SERU preparation course to include explanation of drivers handbook; example questions; TfL on-line Safeguarding Course (all drivers are expected to complete)

Many people think the SERU assessment is just about another English assessment – not true.  SERU is about everything you should know about being a driver.  However, if you fail (60% pass mark), TfL will assume that your English isn’t sufficient as you were unable to read the Drivers Handbook and understand it – so your licence will be revoked.
